Kathryn Rech was born and raised in Urbandale, IA. She is a graduate from The University of Northern Iowa with a Graphic Technology and IDS double major with a Marketing minor. She currently resides in Cedar Falls, IA working as a press operator and project manager at a commercial printing company.

Kat started her marching career with Colts Cadets (2015), then Colts (2016-2017), and aged out with Blue Stars (2018-2021) on mellophone. During her time in college, she was in the Panther Marching Band at UNI. She has found a passion for volunteering and giving back to the marching arts, which has shaped her into the person she is today.

Kat has always had a hobby for photography and found it to be the best of both worlds, getting the opportunity to photograph and create social content for a marching arts group. She returns for her 2nd year, capturing moments and making content for Crossroads.
